Emmanuel is from Las Vegas and is a current 1L at Harvard Law School. He has worked in both public and private sectors, domestically and abroad, including banking, mergers & acquisitions, and management consulting. As a former teacher and policy staffer, Emmanuel ultimately hopes to use his law degree to defend students’ right to a high-quality public education.

Taylor Gwinn graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in Health Management Sciences and a psychology minor in the spring of 2023 from Howard University. Taylor has spent her entire undergraduate career dedicated herself to advocacy and research in the legal field. She desires to use the knowledge learned from her advocacy and research to create more inclusive legal spaces for underrepresented and marginalized individuals. Taylor is currently a first-year law student at the University of South Carolina Law School.

Solange Hackshaw graduated magna cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.S. in Communication Studies in 2021 from Boston University. As a Trinidadian-American immigrant, she is passionate about advocating for marginalized communities and challenging systemic inequities. Solange is currently a first-year law student at Duke University School of Law.

Na Hye Kim (Laurel) graduated with a B.A. in East Asian Studies and Business Management in 2022 from Columbia University in the City of New York. Her interest in the law arose when she interned at Proskauer Rose LLP, a firm in New York City, as a Pro Bono Legal intern. Following graduation, Ms. Kim worked on the Hill as a law clerk for Senator Hirono’s Judiciary team and assisted on Senate Judiciary Committee matters. As a daughter of first-generation Korean immigrants, she hopes to continue serving as an advocate for immigrants through direct legal services and public policy work. Ms. Kim is currently a first-year law student at Stanford Law School.

Mike Yunxuan Li graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Spanish and Psychology. He is a first generation immigrant from Beijing, China, and came to the U.S. as a child. Prior to law school, Mike was
a fiction writer, using the literary medium to address many of the inequalities and class tensions in the U.S. His works have been nominated for the Pushcart Prize and archived in Yale University’s Beinecke Rare Book & Manuscript Library. Mike was the founder of an education startup and the curriculum developer of a reading program to help low-income students gain access to quality literary instruction.

Mike has also worked as a legal assistant at an immigration law firm, where he helped clients on a variety of visa issues. He’s been involved in initiatives to advocate for equitable housing for individuals of low-income backgrounds. Mike is currently a 1L student at Cornell Law School.
