Willie J. Epps Jr. has been appointed vice president of management services and deputy compliance officer at Charter Communications Inc., a cable-television operator. In this position, Epps will serve as a resource on compliance and ethics matters, signal theft and security, and contract administration.

Prior to joining Charter, Epps was a trial lawyer in private practice, specializing in civil and criminal litigation. He previously served as assistant special counsel, office of Special Counsel John C. Danforth, the Waco Investigation; special assistant U.S. attorney, district of Massachusetts; captain, trial counsel, and defense counsel, U.S. Air Force JAG Corps; and was a White House intern on the Domestic Policy Council.

Epps is a member of the American Bar Association, the Missouri Bar, the Criminal Justice Act Panel, National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications (NAMIC), and Cleveland Avenue Baptist Church.

Epps graduated cum laude from Amherst College, and earned his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he was student body president.
