Rawle Andrews Jr., is the new senior state director for AARP in Maryland, where he will oversee business operations and various advocacy, education, and outreach programs. The former managing attorney of AARP’s Legal Counsel for the Elderly is also active on several civic commissions and trustee boards including the District of Columbia Access to Justice Commission, the Multidisciplinary Urban Gerontology Advisory Board at Morgan State University, and the Maryland Long-Term Care Reform Work Group. Earlier this year, the Legal Counsel for the Elderly presented him with its 2010 Distinguished Service Award. A member of Alpha Kappa Psi fraternity, Mr. Andrews earned a B.A. in Psychology from Texas Southern University and a J.D. with honors from Howard University School of Law.
