Paula Schauwecker is a principal/shareholder in the New York Office of Beveridge & Diamond PC, a premier national environmental law firm. Her practice is focused on counseling and defending oil and gasoline, chemical and other industrial and manufacturing clients in matters regarding environmental compliance or contamination. She received her law degree from Pace University School of Law where she graduated summa cum laude and where she has served as an Adjunct Professor of Law.  She is a member of the District of Columbia and New York and Connecticut State Bars and is admitted to practice in the Eastern and Southern Districts of New York.  Paula has been named a Super Lawyer every year since 2011.

She served as the Firm’s Diversity Shareholder and Co-Chair of the Diversity & Inclusion Committee from 2012-2016 and served on the Firm’s Management Committee from 2016-2019. Paula was the Firm’s first woman and openly LGBT shareholder elected in its NY office and the first openly LGBT member of the Firm’s Management Committee.  She also serves as Corporate Secretary for the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, a non-profit organization that promotes and supports diversity, inclusion and equity in the legal profession.

Among her many publications, she received acclaim for her article entitled:  Diversity in Environmental Practice:  How Are We Doing?, which was published in the Winter 2012 edition of Natural Resources & Environment, the ABA Section of Environment, Energy and Resources flagship publication for which she serves as an editor.
