Pan-American Life has appointed Patrick Fraizer as general counsel and senior vice president. Throughout his career, Fraizer has specialized in joint ventures and mergers & acquisitions. Prior to joining Pan-American Life, Fraizer served as senior international counsel and vice president for the Principal Financial Group, with responsibility for the firm’s legal services outside of the United States. During his tenure at Principal, he also served as general auditor and chief compliance officer, as well as general counsel for its international division. Prior to joining Principal Financial Group, Fraizer was a tax specialist with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co.
Fraizer earned his bachelor of business administration in accounting and his juris doctorate “with distinction” from the University of Iowa. He is a certified public accountant and a member of the American Bar Association, the Iowa State Bar Association, the Association of Life Insurance Counsel, the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, and the Iowa Society of Certified Public Accountants. He currently serves as vice president of the Iowa Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel, which is the in-house bar association serving the professional needs of attorneys who practice in corporate legal departments.
