Coors Brewing Company has appointed N. Cornell Boggs III to the position of chief legal officer and group vice president. In this role, Boggs will be responsible for legal, government affairs, corporate communications, alcohol responsibility, and water and natural resources for Coors Brewing Company.

Boggs joins Coors from Tyco Plastics and Adhesives in Princeton, N.J., where he had served as vice president and general counsel since June 2003. Earlier in his career, he served as associate general counsel with Anheuser-Busch, Americas regional counsel for Intel Corporation, and assistant general counsel with Monsanto Company.

Boggs began his career with an earned appointment to the honors program with the U.S. Department of Justice, a prestigious two-year litigation opportunity in which he represented the interests of the United States in court.

In March 2005, Boggs was featured on the cover of Corporate Counsel magazine as part of its annual list of 10 promising lawyers who could be expected to head the legal functions of leading U.S. and international corporations. He is also a member of MCCA’s board of directors.

Boggs earned his undergraduate and law degrees from Valparaiso University, where he is now a member of the board of directors.
