Michael D. Marin became a partner at the law firm of Vinson & Elkins L.L.P., where he is a member of the firm’s litigation practice area. Representing a broad range of clients, his trial practice focuses on business and tort litigation.
A graduate of Leadership Austin, he has been involved as a leader in numerous organizations, including the Travis County Bar Association, Legal Aid of Central Texas, and the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin. Mr. Marin has received the Austin Under 40 Award for the Legal Profession, the Outstanding Young Lawyer Award from the Austin Young Lawyers Association, the President’s Award for Outstanding Community Service from the Hispanic Bar Association of Austin, as well as numerous other awards for service to the community and to the bar.
Mr. Marin earned his B.A. in political science in 1989 from the University of Texas at El Paso, M.B.A. with highest honors in 1991 from Golden Gate University, and J.D. from Harvard Law School in 1994, where he was also the editor of the Harvard Journal of Legislation.
