Joshua W. Martin III has joined Delaware-based Potter Anderson & Corroon LLP as a partner. Martin will concentrate his law practice on mediation, arbitration, and business counseling, particularly in the areas of telecommunications, public utilities, and governmental relations. He will also chair the firm’s diversity committee.

Prior to his appointment, Martin was the CEO of Verizon Delaware, having been promoted from general counsel. Previously, he served as a Delaware Superior Court judge. Earlier, Martin served on the Delaware Public Service Commission from 1978 to 1982, including three years as chairman. He began his professional career as a physicist at the DuPont Company in 1966. After obtaining his law degree, Martin joined Hercules, Inc., where he was a patent attorney from 1974 to 1982.

Martin is a trustee of Case Western Reserve University and a life trustee of Goldey Beacom College. He serves on the boards and is a trustee at several companies. Martin’s community and professional activities include service as chairman for several foundations.

Martin holds a bachelor’s degree in physics from Case Institute of Technology and a juris doctorate from the Rutgers University School of Law. He also completed the Wharton School Executive Development Program.
