Jennifer Liu

Jennifer Liu is the director of legal and business affairs at Sony Computer Entertainment America Incorporated (the PlayStation group). She handles all of the company’s litigation and is responsible for managing and hiring outside litigation counsel. She also manages all legal matters related to licensing SCEA’s technical information to third-party game publishers and developers, and oversees the company’s antipiracy program.

The National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA) named Liu as one of the “Top Lawyers Under 40,” an honor simultaneously recognizing her work at Sony and her numerous efforts in diversity. Liu has served in a number of executive positions in the Asian American Bar Association, including co-chair of its Anti-Bias and Diversity Committee, former president, and current co-chair of the In-House Counsel Committee.

Liu has also volunteered for the Asian Law Caucus free referral clinic and has provided pro bono legal representation for clients of the San Francisco Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights.

Liu, who graduated from the University of Iowa College of Law, advises women to “make sure you are working for or with a person who recognizes – and rewards –good work. Be willing to branch out in your areas of knowledge and understand how your personal work fits into the larger business concerns.”
