Jeewon Kim Serrato is Norton Rose Fulbright’s US Head of Data Protection, Privacy and Cybersecurity. She advises technology, consumer, and retail companies, financial services institutions, and healthcare organizations on cutting edge issues at the intersection of technology and law, including the design and implementation of GDPR and CCPA programs. Jeewon began her career working as a Legislative Counsel in the US Congress, where she worked with lawmakers to draft and pass legislation relating to data privacy, consumer protection and global crisis management. She continued to provide advice relating to technology and data risks as the top-level executive in charge of privacy at RELX Group and as Chief Privacy Officer of Fannie Mae, where she led, implemented and tested enterprise privacy programs and data protection strategies. She currently serves on the US DHS Data Privacy and Integrity Advisory Committee and the California Lawyers Association’s Antitrust, UCL & Privacy Executive Committee. Jeewon is a Certified Information Privacy Professional and holds a US Secret Clearance. Jeewon was named a 2017 Cybersecurity Trailblazer by the National Law Journal and recognized in Cybersecurity Docket’s “Incident Response 30”, a list of the 30 best and brightest data breach response lawyers. She received her BA from UC Berkeley and her JD from UC Berkeley School of Law. She also received a master-level political science certificate with honors from Sciences Po Paris.
