Carolyn Kimbrough-Davis

Carolyn Kimbrough-Davis is the assistant general counsel for labor and employment law at Cardinal Health Inc. She reports to the chief legal officer and is responsible for managing the labor and employment section of the legal department. Kimbrough-Davis is also a member of the senior leadership team.

Kimbrough-Davis entered corporate law immediately after obtaining her J.D. from the Cleveland Marshall College of Law. “I had the tenacity to believe that my professional experience in other fields would transfer to the legal world and distinguish me,” she explains. Her confidence convinced a leading corporate law department to employ her. “Being able to demonstrate the value-add is key to persuading people to take a chance on a non-conventional idea or approach.”

“‘To thine own self be true,'” Kimbrough-Davis advises women attorneys. “Being true to yourself requires you to find a style that works for you, a manner that makes you approachable, and a creativity that allows you to offer valuable solutions to your clients.”

Kimbrough-Davis’ civic commitments include memberships with the American Bar Association, the National Bar Association, the Ohio and Michigan State Bar Associations, and the American Corporate Counsel Association. She is also a Big Sister in the Big Brother/Big Sister program, serves on the board of a local treatment facility for troubled youths, and she was recently recognized in Who’s Who in Black Columbus.
