Position: Senior Corporate Counsel, Public Sector Compliance, Global Ethics & Integrity
Location: CA – San Francisco; NY – New York; VA – Reston; IL – Chicago

Description: We’re looking for a talented and collaborative ethics and compliance leader to serve as Senior Corporate Counsel leading our global public sector ethics and integrity programs, reporting to our VP of Global Ethics & Integrity. This role will focus exclusively on public sector compliance supporting the company’s rapidly growing public sector business — it is not a commercial contract negotiating position. This leader will have an established track record as an in-house public sector attorney (preferably in tech) or law firm experience with a client base of government contractors.

Responsibilities
With oversight from the Vice President, Anti-Corruption for the Office of Global Ethics & Integrity:

  • Lead a small team of subject matter experts
  • Provide subject matter expertise on Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR), Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS), and other regulatory compliance issues for Federal, State and Local government business
  • Partner with revenue recognition, sales operations, technology operations, and other stakeholder teams to ensure agreements are consistent with unique government contracts requirements, as well as internal corporate policies and processes
  • Work closely with cross-functional legal teams, public sector sales teams, and business operations teams to build compliance controls and procedures for public sector sales in new global markets
  • Implement and enhance policies/procedures for compliance with government requirements, such as “revolving door” laws, rules on government participation in events, government gift rules, etc. 
  • Advise marketing teams on public sector customer stories and press releases
  • Develop and conduct ethics and compliance training for public sector sales employees on company policies and procedures, as well as relevant rules and regulations
  • Serve as M&A interface for the function during both acquisition and integration phases
  • Advise on privileged inquiries into compliance issues related to public sector business
  • Oversee risk assessments and policy gap analyses
  • Drive operational efficiency with a focus on scaling

Qualifications:

Required Skills/Experience

  • At least 10 years government contracts legal experience in a government agency, law firm, and/or in-house legal department (including FAR, DFARS, False Claims Act, federal procurement and compliance statutes and regulations, and state/local procurement rules)
  • Juris Doctor degree and admitted to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction
  • Strategic and operational vision for developing a world-class public sector compliance program
  • Experience influencing and aligning programs with a range of cross-functional and business partners
  • Facility briefing senior leaders from different functional areas
  • Superior organization and project management skills
  • Analytical mindset and impeccable attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to distill complex public sector issues for audiences that don’t have public sector expertise
  • A predisposition for action in finding and closing compliance gaps
  • Skillfulness at understanding, upholding and instilling the values of the company
  • Keen intellect with an insatiable curiosity
  • A proactive nature and “can-do” attitude
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritize, and manage deadlines in a fast-paced and demanding work environment
