Position: Short Hills – Junior Commercial Litigation Associate
Location: Short Hills, NJ

Description: The Short Hills office of Dentons US LLP is seeking a junior associate with excellent academic credentials and 0-3 years of legal experience to join our sophisticated Litigation practice. The person hired for this position will be part of a dedicated team and will support the practice by assuming such responsibilities as:

  • Drafting and preparing pleadings, motions and other litigation documents
  • Conducting legal research and writing
  • Managing discovery and document production
  • Working on all aspects of pretrial to trial
  • Managing and coordinating workflow between other attorneys and paralegals
  • Supporting the team by performing work on other litigation-related matters as needed

Qualifications:

  • Has excellent written communication skills and an ability to produce written work product that is concise and effective
  • Has strong presentation skills and is able to clearly communicate advice to clients and colleagues
  • Is conscientious and displays resourcefulness in problem-solving
  • Has strong problem-solving skills and uses research, legal knowledge and expertise to tackle complex problems
  • Is organized and efficient with disciplined time management skills
  • Demonstrates sound judgment and possesses keen attention to detail
  • Has a sincere interest in career development and welcomes feedback
  • 0-3 years of experience
  • Strong litigation skills, such as serving as the case management lead, drafting briefs and memoranda, and exhibiting superb oratory skills
  • Previous law firm experience is a plus, but not required
  • Should be licensed to practice law in the State of New Jersey and be in good standing; also being licensed to practice law in the State of New York is a plus
