Legal Department Description
The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co is responsible for the provision of legal services to the Corporation and is organized by practice groups that generally align with the Corporation’s lines of business and corporate staff areas. This structure encourages legal teams and businesses and staff areas to discuss legal, regulatory and business developments effectively and in a timely manner.
An attorney with 5 years of experience is needed to join the JPMorgan Chase Corporate and Regulatory Group to provide antitrust guidance and legal support for the Firm’s proprietary M&A transactions and strategic investments and provide general advice as questions arise across lines of business. In particular, in this role, the attorney will provide support and advice with regard to antitrust and competition law issues to the Firm’s (i) Corporate M&A group in connection with proprietary mergers, acquisitions, divestitures and joint venture transactions and (ii) Corporate Strategic Investments group in connection with investments in FinTech startups, venture capital transactions and heritage private equity divestitures.
This position is located in Plano, Texas, and any applicants for the position must be highly competent in the antitrust practice area of law, particularly in connection with mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures and similar transactions. Responsibilities include assessing antitrust legal risks arising from such transactions and then effecting changes to transaction terms, as well as relevant firm policies and practices to mitigate such risk.

Qualifications: The successful candidate will have the following personal attributes:
- J.D. from an accredited law school.
- 5+ years of extensive antitrust practicing experience for financial institutions with a major law firm (or equivalent in-house experience);
- Attorney must be licensed to practice law and a member in good standing in Texas;
- Successful completion of a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment;
- Excellent academic record; and
- Outstanding references
