2019 G-TEC Pitch Session Network

MCCA’s Pitch Session Network (“PSN”) has grown incredibly fast in both demand and impact, from its inception in 2017 at MCCA’s Creating Pathways to Diversity® Conference (“Pathways Conference”). This year we were able to bring the PSN to the 2019 Global TEC Forum: Empowering Change in Technology, Education and Careers (“G-TEC Forum”). Going forward, conference attendees at the G-TEC Forum or the Pathways Conference will have the opportunity to participate in the PSN program. Please check the appropriate conference PSN page for more information and eligibility.

MCCA thanks the corporate legal departments and law firms for participating in the first PSN offered at the 2019 G-TEC Forum and making it a remarkable success!

The collaboration among corporate legal departments, law firms and MCCA is another example of how we are #AdvancingTogether. MCCA cannot achieve our vision to “make the next generation of legal leaders as diverse as the world we live in” a reality without influential corporate legal departments agreeing to meet and hire diverse outside counsel for important and on-going work.

Am I guaranteed a slot to pitch?

Pitch Session Network meetings are NOT guaranteed.

Applications are carefully reviewed and are forwarded to in-house counsel for review if they match the in-house counsel’s requirements. Please be aware that there could be many reasons why an application was not selected for a pitch session, such as:

  • There was no need for the type of service being pitched;
  • In-house counsel and/or law firm attorneys have very specific needs; and/or
  • In-house counsel and/or law firm attorneys were already aware of the services provided and/or have any existing relationship for those specific services.

Due to confidentiality reasons and the volume of applications received, we do not provide information on why an application was not selected for a pitch session.

MCCA does not guarantee that the diverse law firm partner or legal service provider that submits a submission for the Pitch Session Network will be selected to participate, nor does MCCA guarantee that selection and participation in the Pitch Session Network will result in actual legal work.
