R&B Star Angie Stone to Headline Diversity Honors Gala
WASHINGTON – Angie Stone will bring her Grammy-nominated brand of R&B to New York’s Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts on September 11 as entertainment for the Diversity Honors Gala hosted by the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). The red-carpet event is expected to bring together over 1,100 members of the legal and business communities to celebrate advancements in diversity and inclusion.
The gala will begin with the New York City Joint Service Color Guard presenting the colors, followed by the national anthem sung by Yolanda Rabun, musician, actor and corporate attorney. During her concert, Angie Stone will present a powerful selection of the R&B/soul songs that have garnered three Grammy nominations and made her an international star for three decades. The evening will be emceed by Sunny Hostin, former federal prosecutor and multiplatform journalist.
MCCA will honor those who have made outstanding contributions to diversity in the legal field. Dennis W. Archer, who served as president of the American Bar Association and mayor of Detroit, will receive the prestigious Lifetime Achievement Award. Five companies will be honored as Employers of Choice: DHL, Nationwide Mutual Insurance Company, Chevron Corporation, H.J. Heinz Company and Morgan Stanley. The evening will conclude with a VIP dinner reception.
