Washington, D.C. -- In conjunction with the Mid-Atlantic Region Diversity Dinenr, the Minority Corporate Counsel Association, Inc. (MCCA) honored three of the nation's leading corporate legal departments and spotlighted a law firm with diversity awards.
 
Earlier in the evening, MCCA hosted the Diversity Dialogue, a panel discussion of diversity best practices featuring the evening's award winners. MCCA’s Diversity Dialogue was established to showcase local diversity practices, pay tribute to members’ initiatives and promote new ideas. The panel discussion probed further into the programs highlighted and honored by MCCA while offering more information about building award winning diversity initiatives.
 
Participating in the panel were MCCA's Employer of Choice Award winners: the legal departments of Capital One, Glaxo SmithKline and Pepco Holdings, Inc. They were chosen for demonstrating a commitment to diversity and creating and maintaining an inclusive workplace.
 
Also participating were the Mid-Atlantic Region offices of Crowell & Moring LLP who were chosen to receive the Thomas L. Sager Award, named in honor of Thomas L. Sager, MCCA Board member and Senior Vice President and General Counsel for the DuPont Company. This award is given to law firms that demonstrate sustained commitment to improving the hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys.
