Based upon a competitive selection process, MCCA and LNMH will choose the recipient of a $15,000 fellowship funded through the generosity of LNMH to assist in furthering the educational and professional objectives of one third year law student who anticipates graduating from law school in Spring 2008.

Applications are due on or before October 1, 2007. An application form is attached. Review the rules, selection criteria, and if you will be a third year law student (or equivalent in the case of part-time/evening) who anticipates receiving your law degree in Spring 2008, you are eligible to apply! Applications are accepted via hard, copy sent by mail or courier only. No applications will be accepted by email or fax. • Celebrating Diversity within the Legal Profession
Summary: AMERICA RECENTLY CELEBRATED ITS 240TH BIRTHDAY on July 4 and since its founding in 1776, its fabric of citizens has changed drastically, according to the U. S. Census Bureau. Of 319 million U.S. citizens, 51% are female, 54 million are Latino, 40 million are senior citizens, 27 million are disabled, 18 million are Asian, 9 million are LGBTQ and 3.5 million are Muslim. Almost half the country belongs to minority groups. This is an excellent reminder that “everyday Americans” are more diverse than ever before. It’s also a painful reminder that the legal profession still has work to do.
